🚨 Zcash Just Cut Block Times to 25 Seconds — On Public Testnet

Zcash activated NU7 on its public testnet, cutting the target block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds.
The upgrade also redirects 60% of transaction fees into a reserve for future mining rewards and disables the older Sprout privacy system.
Mainnet activation is targeted for November 5, with a formal decision window scheduled around October 20 after test results are reviewed.
Holders still using Sprout funds will need to move them before the mainnet upgrade to retain access through the existing system.
