🚨 XRP whales are “draining” exchanges!
100 million XRP withdrawn—is the real market signal here?🔥

A notable shift has recently emerged in XRP: more and more of the XRP flowing out of exchanges is coming from whales. Data from CryptoQuant shows that on September 29, whale-sized outflows from Binance accounted for 84.2% of total outflows, almost matching the 84.2% recorded on August 21. Meanwhile, the share of outflows from retail investors had fallen to 15%.
More importantly, looking across all centralized exchanges, the share of whale outflows rose from 78% on August 21 to 82% on September 29.
In other words, whales and retail investors are increasingly moving in different directions.
📊 August 21: Whales 78% vs. retail 21%
📊 September 29: Whales 82% vs. retail 17%
The gap between them widened further, from 57 percentage points to 65 percentage points.
But what’s really worth watching isn’t “who is moving XRP off exchanges”—it’s how much XRP is actually left on them.
🔥 Binance data shows that from September 26 to October 4, XRP reserves fell from 2.7 billion to 2.63 billion, a drop of about 73.1 million in a short period—roughly 2.7% of the original reserves.
South Korea’s Upbit saw a similar decline.
From September 11 to October 5, Upbit’s XRP reserves fell from 6.44 billion to 6.41 billion, a decrease of about 31.6 million. Combined, around 104.7 million XRP left these two exchanges. This points to an interesting signal: whales are continuing to withdraw their tokens, while XRP inventories on exchanges are falling at the same time.
👀 What does this mean for XRP?
In general, tokens moving off exchanges doesn’t mean “whales are about to buy,” nor does it necessarily mean the price will rise. But if whales keep moving XRP from exchanges to other addresses, the supply of XRP readily available for sale on exchanges could shrink.
If demand suddenly surges later, the market could see a key shift: sell-side liquidity thins, making prices more sensitive to inflows.
