The NYSE’s parent company and OKX have teamed up to launch OKXICE, filing with the SEC to offer 24/7 tokenized U.S. stocks—63 stocks, including Nvidia, Tesla, and Apple, traded through Uniswap v4 pools on X Layer.
It’s an interesting combination: one of the oldest exchanges and a major player in crypto joining forces to “bring U.S. stocks on-chain.” Tokenization has been talked about for years, but this time it has ICE’s backing and is going through formal regulatory filings—it’s not just a small project making big promises.
Still, whether 24-hour stock trading is good for retail investors is an open question. U.S. markets used to close at night, giving you a chance to cool off. Now you can buy and sell at any time, and with leverage in the mix, it’ll probably just make it easier to chase rallies and sell off in a panic.
