Fairshake — a political action committee (PAC) that receives contributions from Coinbase, Ripple Labs, and Andreessen Horowitz — announced that it will initially spend a total of $6 million on six of the 32 House candidates the organization planned to support ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterm elections.

On Monday, Fairshake said it would support 19 incumbent Republicans and 13 incumbent Democrats in the 2026 US House elections. The PAC is expected to spend more than $100 million on ads supporting House and Senate candidates in 2026, including at least $30 million in the Ohio Senate race to support Republican Jon Husted in his contest against Democrat Sherrod Brown.

“Fairshake has always been, and always will be, an issues-focused organization,” said Fairshake spokesperson Jeff Vetter. “We support pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties.”

According to data from a crypto industry-backed PAC, three Republican candidates and three Democratic candidates will each receive $1 million in spending ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. They include Democratic Representatives Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Derek Tran of California, and Steven Horsford of Nevada, as well as Republican Representatives French Hill of Arkansas, Bill Huizenga of Michigan, and Bryan Steil of Wisconsin.

All 32 candidates whom Fairshake said it would support voted to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a bill that was expected to establish clear oversight authority over digital assets for US financial agencies. The bill failed to pass a key Senate vote, leaving the future of the Republican-backed legislation uncertain ahead of the midterm elections. Many polls indicated that Democrats are likely to gain control of majorities in both chambers of Congress in 2027.

In August, Vetter said that Fairshake had “$122 million in cash” ahead of the midterm elections as part of its plan to “help create the largest pro-crypto caucus in US history.” The consumer advocacy group Public Citizen reported that, as of June, the PAC had spent $82 million on ads opposing or supporting candidates—less than half of the estimated $189 million it had received from advocacy groups and companies linked to the crypto industry.
