The takeaway first: major exchanges saw $3.92 million in liquidations over the past hour, with Binance accounting for 54%. Longs were the first to get wiped out.
Of all liquidations, $2.6 million were longs, accounting for 66%. This shows the move wasn’t simply a short squeeze—leveraged longs took the biggest hit. Binance saw $2.13 million in liquidations across 1,354 orders, averaging $1,570 each. The high volume of small orders suggests retail positions were more likely to be liquidated one by one.
Bybit saw $640K in liquidations and OKX $560K, together accounting for only about 30%. Long liquidations have now exceeded half, so don’t mistake a short-term rebound for a risk-free buying opportunity.
