The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued no-action relief allowing designated contract markets to convert certain existing contracts that already function like perpetual futures into true perpetual contracts with no expiration date. According to ChainCatcher, the relief is effective through October 20.
Before making any conversion, exchanges must seek input from holders of open positions, provide advance notice and an opportunity to exit, and disclose the associated risks.
