Nasdaq rises for 4th straight session, hits another record; Nvidia nears $5.76T — A-shares reopen the day after tomorrow

☀️ Uncle’s Morning Brief | Oct. 6 (Tue.)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🪙 BTC around 85,500; ETH around 2,700. BTC has pulled back from above 87K and is now fluctuating near 85K, an important short-term level to watch.

🇺🇸 **U.S. stocks:** Nasdaq +1.05%, up for a 4th straight session and setting another all-time high; S&P 500 +0.66%, Dow +0.18%. Nvidia gained over 2%, bringing its market cap close to $5.76 trillion.

🇨🇳 **A-shares:** Markets remain closed for the National Day holiday and will reopen on Oct. 8. A surprisingly weak jobs report, record highs for U.S. stocks, and strength across Asia-Pacific have made the external environment more favorable than before the holiday.

🇭🇰 **Hong Kong stocks:** The Hang Seng Index rose 0.28% yesterday, returning to around 24,000, while overseas tech stocks remained strong.

🗾 **Asia-Pacific:** The Nikkei previously broke above 70,000 intraday, Taiwan stocks hit another all-time high, and South Korea’s market reopens today.

🛢️ **Oil & gold:** Brent around $101, WTI around $90, and gold around $4,150.

⚡ Uncle’s take:

The main thread in global markets over the holiday is clear:

Surprisingly weak jobs report → rate-hike expectations cool → U.S. tech stocks hit new highs → Asia-Pacific markets strengthen.

A-shares reopen the day after tomorrow, and the external environment has improved noticeably.

But a higher open doesn’t guarantee a rise.

On the first day, watch closely for:

Whether trading volume returns, and whether tech and semiconductors can take the lead.

Enjoy a good rest over the final two days of the holiday.

See you on Oct. 8.
