The bullish news most likely to be overestimated this morning is treating $2.75 billion in USDC minted as $2.75 billion in buying pressure.

Public trackers report that Circle minted about $2.75 billion in USDC on Solana over the past seven days. That figure reflects total minting; it does not prove that an equivalent amount of capital has entered the market to buy crypto.

After years of trading, I care more about where the funds end up: how much was burned over the same period, whether the issuer released any of its inventory, and whether circulating supply and on-chain usage grew together. Circle also states that USDC can be used for payments, settlement, and cross-chain swaps, so its uses go far beyond buying SOL.

I’ll add this news to my watchlist and keep waiting for evidence of where the funds actually flow. No matter how big the number is, what matters is whether it ultimately creates sustained demand.

When you assess news like this, do you focus more on the amount minted or on where the funds go afterward?
