🗞 Crypto Digest — October 5, 2026
₿ Bitcoin tests the $87,000 area
Today, BTC rose to around $86,995, but has yet to establish a sustained position above $87,000. According to Investing.com, the price was around $86,246 at 17:05 Moscow time. This is a daily snapshot, not a live quote.
🏛 CFTC proposes new rules for leveraged crypto trading
The U.S. regulator has introduced a proposal for federal oversight of platforms offering retail clients leveraged crypto trading. It includes requirements for proof of reserves and safeguards against manipulation. This is still a proposal, not rules that have taken effect across the entire spot market.
🐋 Strategy continues to buy BTC
In a statement published today, the company disclosed that it purchased another 334 BTC for $28.7 million between October 1 and 4. The average purchase price was about $85,839, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 BTC as of October 4.
💵 ETFs remain a source of support
The latest available figures cover previous trading days: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $102.7 million on October 1 and $189.8 million on October 2, according to SoSoValue, as reported by Investing.com. The October 5 figures are not included.
🗳 The crypto industry is strengthening its political influence
Fairshake announced its support for 32 candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives from both parties. Spending of $1 million is planned for six candidates. This comes amid stalled progress on the CLARITY Act.
📌 My view
Strategy’s purchases and ETF inflows support the case for growth, but they don’t guarantee the rally will continue. I’m watching to see whether BTC can hold above $87,000 and whether a breakout will be backed by real demand.
Are you expecting the rally to continue, or a correction first?
