The bottom line: traditional assets saw $7.97 million in liquidations over the past four hours, with stock contracts accounting for $6.59 million. Shorts took on 70% of the losses.

Among stock liquidations, shorts accounted for $4.586 million and longs $2.01 million, putting shorts at 70%. Most of the stock positions liquidated over those four hours were bearish bets—traders had the direction wrong, and were crowded onto the same side.

The largest single liquidation was a Hyperliquid EWZ short: it was liquidated at $42.58, for a value of $623,000. A string of large short liquidations also hit SPCX, suggesting the pressure wasn't confined to just one stock.

Commodity contracts saw the opposite: $1.29 million in long liquidations, versus just $51,000 in shorts. Stock shorts and commodity longs were hit at the same time, showing that traditional assets are now playing out two very different stories.

Would you rather buy the dip in stocks now, or wait for the short squeeze to end?
