California ordered startup R/E/K to stop unauthorized fights after a fight in San Francisco between a YouTuber and three humanoid robots.
The company says there is huge demand for more, even though its robots are controlled by humans. According to Digital Trends, Liv says interest in watching people take on machines has been "tremendous." The company thought the main attraction would be robot-versus-robot fights, but the LaPenna fight, which pitted a human against a nearly two-meter-tall humanoid, changed that idea.
