Self-custody wallet Phantom announced support for BNB Chain at 01:05 (UTC+8) on October 2. Two minutes later, the official BNB Chain account confirmed the launch. Update the app or browser extension to the latest version, then enable BNB Chain under “Settings—Active Networks” to directly hold, send, receive, buy, and swap $BNB and BEP-20 tokens.

Phantom got its start on Solana, and its help center had previously listed BSC as an unsupported network, meaning users with BSC assets had to install a separate EVM wallet such as MetaMask. With BNB Chain now its ninth supported network, Phantom also supports Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Robinhood Chain, Arc, HyperEVM, and Bitcoin. When routing is available, users can also swap across networks, and the app offers perpetual futures powered by Hyperliquid.

There are still some limitations for now. According to Phantom’s help center, opBNB and BNB Beacon Chain are not currently supported; users cannot connect to DApps on BNB Chain, NFTs are not displayed, and Ledger accounts cannot yet be used. Network fees must be paid in BNB on BNB Chain; BNB on other chains cannot be used to cover them.

In the market, $BNB briefly rose to $809.99 on Binance Spot on October 5, then fell back to around $790 as of 19:05 (UTC+8), essentially unchanged over 24 hours.
