If you want to know whether a token is truly active, don’t just look at the longest candle. Look at what happens afterward.
Take a look at $SUI now: it briefly printed a 1H candle from 1.2330 to 1.2431 with 15.1M SUI in volume. The next candle still had 14.7M, then 9.7M, but after that volume rose again to 19M. OI also moved in the 135–136M range.
Now compare that with $WLD : volume briefly surged to 30.8M WLD as the price rose to 0.5824, then fell to 16.5M and 11.3M. OI also only ranged between 229–230M.
So the difference starts to become clear: one big candle is just a burst. An active token usually continues to generate trades and price movement after that burst has passed.
Binance recorded WLD’s 24-hour futures volume at around 416.8M WLD, while SUI’s was around 410M WLD at the time of this post.
