On Tuesday, October 6, around 3.75 million HYPE tokens will be unlocked, valued at $340–856 million (estimates vary considerably depending on the methodology). This one unlock alone accounts for more than half of the total value of all token unlocks across the market in October.
The $800 million figure looks alarming, but this time the story may be different: the team has previously stated clearly that these tokens are going to an institutional buyer. An unlock doesn’t necessarily mean a sell-off—the tokens may not even enter the secondary market.
