Futures market: read the structure before discussing direction
For futures, I only watch how crowded the trade is—not what people are saying in chat groups.
There are only three sets of numbers that matter for futures. Everything else is noise.
1. BTC 86236, 24h range 84935–86999, change +1.51%.
2. BTC open interest notional: $8.41 billion, 24h +0.67%
3. Long/short ratio across all accounts: 1.01
My take: The top-trader long/short ratio is 1.84, while the ratio across all accounts is only 1.01. Top traders are more bullish than retail traders. You can follow their lead, but you can’t see where they’ll place their stops, so don’t match their position size in full.
Execution levels (based on current price ± the structure, not an old chart):
- Momentum zone: Consider chasing only after it gets above 86,926. Without a hold above that level, it’s a false breakout.
- Buy-the-retest zone: 85,201–85,719. Don’t buy if it loses this zone.
- No-trade zone: If the 1h candle closes below 84,684, skip this trade.
My position: I’ll only trade the retest, not chase a breakout. If the structure holds, I can keep a small core position; any add-on must wait for the retest zone.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change). Missing figures are left blank.
Would you place a limit order in the retest zone, or wait for the candle to close?
