【1.5 million ETH waiting to be staked! But exits are getting backed up too 🔥】

An interesting phenomenon is unfolding on Ethereum right now:
There’s a lot of ETH waiting to enter staking, but plenty of ETH is also waiting to exit.
Currently, around 1.5 million ETH is queued to enter the staking system, worth approximately $4 billion. The estimated wait is about 25 days.
What does this tell us?
Simply put, there are still plenty of investors willing to lock up their ETH to earn staking rewards.
But at the same time, the queue to exit staking has suddenly grown longer.
Currently, around 786,000 ETH is queued to exit, with an estimated wait of nearly 14 days.
Why are so many ETH suddenly looking to exit?
It’s mainly related to a recent security incident involving MetaMask. MetaMask has started proactively exiting some validators, causing a large amount of ETH to flow into the exit queue at once.
That said, there’s no need to read too much into this.
MetaMask says there’s currently no evidence that users’ wallets or funds have been directly affected. Lido also expects that, once the exit process is complete, a substantial portion of this ETH will be staked again. The whole process could take up to 45 days.
📌 So what really matters right now isn’t “ETH is about to be massively sold off,” but that staking demand remains strong even as both inflows and outflows face short-term queues.
What to watch next is whether ETH flows back into staking once the exit queue clears.
