Brent crude opened the European session up 1%. Over the weekend, Houthi forces attacked Saudi Aramco facilities, seven oil tankers were hit in the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran’s oil minister went ahead and resigned. This is far more dramatic than anything happening on the markets.
Interestingly, $BTC is becoming increasingly numb to all this geopolitical noise, while safe-haven money is clearly more inclined to buy oil than crypto. The G7 is also preparing to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from its reserves to push prices down. In the medium term, that could actually rein in inflation expectations—not necessarily a bad thing for risk assets.
All the on-chain buzz is around RWA: $AVAX led the pack last month, with its tokenized stock market cap rising by $245 million. Goldman Sachs’ $100 billion Treasury fund is also set to go live on Lynq, while ARB’s September revenue topped $5 million for a new record. The data shows that traditional finance really is moving on-chain.
Europe isn’t making things easy: the ECB wants to restrict stablecoin yields, and $AAVE founder Stani fired back. Put simply, you can’t stop it—you’ll only push users further toward on-chain protocols.
And a quick gripe: Microsoft’s official account was even hacked to post a Clippy memecoin. This market is really starved for a hot story.
Today, during the European session, just keep an eye on whether oil prices can hold their gains and on the North Sea pipeline strike. Don’t rush into positions before risk appetite stabilizes.
