DeepChao TechFlow message: On October 5, Reuters reported that Revolut has become the startup with the highest valuation in Europe. Its current private equity valuation stands at $115 billion, surpassing the UK’s Barclays Bank and France’s Société Générale. Pre-tax profit for 2025 is expected to reach £1.7 billion (about $2.2 billion), growing rapidly year over year. The company currently has 80 million customers and is actively expanding into markets such as Mexico and Australia, while continuing to obtain new licenses.
However, Revolut still faces multiple challenges: each customer’s income is far lower than that of traditional banks, and its lending scale is relatively small (the loan-to-deposit ratio is only 6%, far below HSBC’s 55%); the company faces intense competition in the U.S. market; in addition, it was fined in Lithuania for anti–money laundering issues, and recently there was a customer data breach. Analysts say that increasing the usage rate of its main accounts and expanding its lending business are Revolut’s core priorities in the next phase.
