As BTC rises to 86.5k, I start watching the shorts instead.
Now there’s some really interesting data:
Around BTC 86,500
OI has already surged to $2.54 billion
But the long/short ratio is only 0.95
In other words, the higher the price goes, the short side in the market doesn’t seem to be pulling back noticeably.
That’s what’s interesting.
If these shorts keep adding positions, and BTC breaks above 87,000–87,200,
there’s a good chance we’ll see a round of short liquidations → liquidations cascading → passive chasing of the breakout.
On the other hand, if around 87,000 we see:
Price spikes but doesn’t go anywhere + OI keeps surging + Delta turns negative
then you should be careful—this could be the final round of a bull-trap.
So right now I’m not guessing up or down.
I just want to see whether 87,200 can truly break through.
Do you think this is a situation where:
① the shorts get squeezed to the point of爆仓
② the longs take the final baton
