$NEAR RECOVER LAND AFTER THE SECURITY INCIDENT.

NEAR rose 6.10% to $4.97 this Sunday, recouping part of the losses after the strong move triggered by the security incident on NEAR Intents.

On October 1, a vulnerability in the interaction between Omni infrastructure and a smart contract allowed about $3.8 million to be taken.

The team paused services, fixed the issue, and committed to fully compensating affected users. Afterwards, the funds were fully recovered.

The incident did not affect NEAR’s base protocol or the NEAR token, but it created selling pressure on an asset that had been rallying very strongly.

In September, the price went from $1.80 to $5.40 before entering a more sideways phase.

Now the quote is moving near the $4.60–5.00 area, with $4.61 as the recent support reference and $5.08 as the immediate technical resistance.

This is also accompanied by a rotation into higher-beta altcoins and the interest generated by NEAR’s new ETF.

A governance proposal is also still pending to reduce the maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%.

The price reaction shows that the market is already absorbing the impact of the incident.
