Bought BlackRock iShares Ethereum Trust ETF ($ETHA) corporate action: Today, October 5, is the record date. Starting at the open tomorrow, trading will occur after a reverse split at a ratio of 1-for-3.

Hard rule: Every 3 shares are consolidated into 1 share. Per-share net asset value will be proportionally increased, and the total market value of holdings and the fund’s total assets will remain unchanged. No fractional shares will be issued; any leftover shares will be converted into cash and delivered to the broker account. This may have tax implications. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said that the bid-ask spread cost could be reduced from about 7 basis points to about 2 basis points.

Fewer shares and a higher share price mainly make trading easier; it is not a buy/sell or price-move signal. Among spot Ethereum ETFs, ETHA is still one of the largest by size.
