Unsustainable inflationary policy
In September, a slight deceleration in prices was observed compared to 2025. However, the cost of this reduction in terms of foreign exchange sales has been very high. It is not sustainable in the medium term.
Lower inflation in 2026 is due to the greater sale of foreign exchange (sterilization) observed in 2026, which doubles the 2025 values, driven by higher oil sales and prices that are 50% higher.
In Vzla there has been no monetary effort. On the contrary, liquidity has grown and has ended up buying foreign exchange. While in the US or in Colombia, liquidity grows by less than double digits annually, in Vzla it grows 230% in 9 months. Thus, the inflation problem will not be solved.
