In Q3, spot BTC ETF net inflows in the U.S. reached $6.34 billion, while in Q2 it was still about a $5.0 billion net outflow. The fund swings between the two quarters exceeded $11 billion.
This suggests that institutional capital really has returned. But I actually don’t think it’s time to just shout “bull market” yet. Because although September saw inflows of about $2.65 billion, on the very last trading day of the quarter there was a net outflow of about $149 million. That indicates the money isn’t simply, mindlessly, rushing in.
So in Q4, there’s really only one thing worth watching: is the $6.34 billion the start of a new round of incremental capital, or is it a stage high point after the third-quarter rally?
