Ethereum validators exit queue surges by 392%
Is ETH about to start dumping?

Brothers
Ethereum’s exit queue exploded
392%

Since October
The number of validators exiting the queue has surged by 392%
At one point it reached about 850,000 ETH waiting
The waiting time is close to 14.8 days
Directly setting a new high this year

Doesn’t it look scary?
Damn—850,000 ETH ready to run?

Hold on before you start dumping
Actually, this big chunk isn’t because everyone suddenly lost faith in ETH
It’s because of a security incident involving MetaMask Staking

MetaMask, due to an intrusion into its infrastructure,
carried out a precautionary exit of nearly 17,000 validators
involving about 523,000 ETH
And so far, there’s no sign that users’ wallets or sensitive data are directly threatened

So among those 850,000 ETH,
one large portion belongs to
those who
can’t
just pull out immediately to ensure safety

So it’s not that
ETH is finished
and there will be panic selling

And exiting validators doesn’t mean 850,000 ETH immediately crashes into exchanges
Because Ethereum has an exit queue mechanism
Funds are released in batches
So the sell pressure in the short term is actually manageable
Once spread out, it won’t be as scary

What is an exit queue?
In plain terms, it’s a built-in rate-limiting mechanism of the Ethereum network
It doesn’t allow a large number of validators to withdraw all at once
To prevent shocks to network security
If you want your staked ETH back, you have to queue
It gets released slowly at a fixed pace

What impact does this have on Ethereum?
In the short term, the market may worry about potential selling pressure as more unlocks happen over time
It still puts pressure on sentiment

In fact, at noon today I posted a trend analysis for Ethereum
And Ethereum already felt a bit tricky
Now it feels like adding fuel to the fire
