Techub News: A message from GoPlus Security monitoring reports that a user lost approximately 305,000 DAI due to an “address poisoning” attack. The attacker generated counterfeit addresses with highly similar first and last characters by transferring a tiny amount of tokens to the victim, tricking the victim into copying the wrong address directly from the transaction history during a subsequent transfer. GoPlus notes that this type of attack is now highly automated and reminds users not to copy addresses directly from historical transaction records; be sure to verify the full characters before making a transfer.
