【Token Approval ≠ Immediate Transfer】
On EVM chains like Ethereum, many ERC-20 token interactions require calling approve first: authorizing a contract to spend your tokens up to a specified limit. Approval itself usually does not move your balance, but it may enable subsequent transferFrom calls to spend the tokens.
“Unlimited allowance” reduces repeated approvals, but if the authorized contract is malicious or has vulnerabilities, the risk may extend to similar tokens that arrive later. Disconnecting your wallet is not the same as revoking on-chain approvals.
Before operating, verify the network, token, contract address, and allowance amount. Prefer granting approvals only as needed, and regularly review and revoke permissions you no longer use. Revoking also typically requires Gas, and you cannot recover assets that have already been transferred. Token implementations may vary.
