Seven on-chain portfolio combinations from Ondo can’t all be called a “BlackRock combination.”

On October 1, Ondo announced that its Intelligent Portfolios expanded from three to seven. The company’s announcement clearly distinguishes: four of the newly added portfolios were designed by Ondo, while the original three use portfolio strategies provided by BlackRock.

The shared packaging approach is to put multiple assets into a transferable on-chain token. The announcement says the seven portfolios are offered to eligible investors on Ethereum and BNB Chain; this does not mean that anyone in any region can use them.

My take: one token consolidates the operational entry point, but it doesn’t consolidate the underlying assets, the portfolio designers, and the issuance arrangements into a single thing. When reading this kind of news, first identify “who designed it, what it contains, and who can hold it,” then discuss what tokenization changes. Brand association can’t replace explanations of the product itself.
