Zelenskyy Says Ukraine Will Step Up Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries
According to CNBC, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine will intensify attacks on Russian oil refineries in response to Moscow's expanded airstrike campaign, while avoiding civilian targets. He said Ukrainian intelligence obtained documents showing Vladimir Putin had approved a new doctrine for broader attacks on civilian infrastructure ahead of winter, and said Russia's strikes are aimed at pressuring people to leave Kyiv and other cities. Zelenskyy said a Ukrainian counteroffensive, code-named "Vivaldi," had recaptured about 140 sq km of Donbas and was still ongoing. He also said Ukraine had launched its first domestically made ballistic missile, the FP-7, with a range of around 250 km, and that the longer-range FP-9 could be ready this autumn.
