I’ve been watching ZEC for more than just a couple of days.
It’s down 20% in a week—sounds scary. But look at the backdrop: how much did BTC rise last month? Right now the whole market is in high-level consolidation. ZEC follows up but doesn’t seem to fall much—on the contrary, it suggests that a wave of selling pressure has already been released.
The key is two things:
First, whether 1258 can hold. I’m not a fortune-teller, but based on on-chain behavior, there are big players accumulating at that level. If it breaks, you might need to look further down. But if you truly get into that range, it may be an area worth studying for the long term.
Second, trading volume has shrunk to this extent—the market has no real direction; everyone’s waiting. When you look at the candlestick chart and think it’s about to choose a direction, that’s actually just a normal reaction of a wait-and-see sentiment.
A lot of people ask me whether you can still get into ZEC. Honestly, that’s not the key question.
The real question is: in the privacy track, over the past few years, has there been any genuine commercial adoption? Is ZEC’s technological iteration keeping up? And will the regulatory side bring any black swan events?
From my experience, the true opportunities for privacy coins lie in RWA and compliance. If ZEC can find real application scenarios within a regulatory framework, then the current pullback is a setup period. If it keeps following the old path—attracting capital through anonymity with no real use cases—then no matter how much it drops, it’s all reasonable.
My view is: at this price, is it worth researching? Yes. Is it worth going all-in to rush in? Not necessarily.
