Choppy trading near 84K—what truly widens the gap isn’t who’s more willing to place orders
This kind of weekend market is the easiest to mislead people: the candlesticks don’t look that extreme, but the order book thins layer by layer, and the quote layers get pulled faster than you think.
Many people only review whether the direction was right, rarely reviewing “where this order was originally intended to fill, and where it ultimately got pushed to.” It’s not just a single price level—it’s the entire execution path: bid-ask spread, depth, trigger conditions, the order in which fills get consumed, and whether you can still exit cleanly when the time comes.
I’m increasingly convinced that in perpetual trading, the most expensive habit isn’t getting the direction wrong—it’s assuming that the order environment everywhere is basically the same. The more sticky the market and the tighter the execution crowding, the more execution quality turns into an invisible cost.
So I prefer to treat PerpEX as an execution-comparison lens: first choose the asset, then examine the quote layers, depth, and cost drift along different paths, and only then decide how to route this order and from where.
