$MUB Micron announces 2027 capital investment plan; Q4 revenue hits a record, reaching $54.2 billion. According to Reuters, on October 4 Micron announced it will invest $25 billion in capital expenditures in the first half of fiscal 2027 and plans to further increase spending in the second half. The company’s fourth-quarter revenue reached a record $54.23 billion, nearly five times that of the same period last year. After the announcement, the market began to worry about potential oversupply and price pressure. However, analysts noted that the substantial production growth enabled by the expanded investment will not be realized until the second half of 2028, and that memory supply is expected to remain tight until 2027. One securities analyst said much of the capital expenditure will be used for factory and cleanroom construction rather than production equipment, which will further delay capacity expansion.
