ASIA ARRIVES IN SINGAPORE WITH THE FOCUS ON PAYMENTS BUILT ON XRPL.
Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation launched XRP Asia, a new organization headquartered in Singapore that aims to expand the development of the XRPL ecosystem across Asia-Pacific.
The initiative seeks to work with developers, startups, and regional communities through training, hackathons, programs for integrators, project support, and access to incubation initiatives and grants.
But the detail that draws the most attention is Ripple’s 2027 goal:
● To significantly increase the volume of payments from its clients that are processed directly on the XRP Ledger.
This year, the company ran a pilot using the XRPL DEX for payment operations and is now evaluating whether to expand that infrastructure.
The plan also includes connecting its payment services with new lending tools within the ledger, including developments tied to the XLS-65 and XLS-66 standards, which are still subject to the corresponding activation processes.
This expansion in Asia also comes with XRP Asia building on communities that already exist in South Korea and Japan, while looking to develop new activity hubs across the region.
For now, the focus is on increasing the use of XRPL in payments, liquidity, and financial services over the coming months.
