$2Z Today, unlocking nearly half of the available supply
What happened today with DoubleZero (2Z) should have been on traders’ radar: a lock of around 1.66 billion 2Z tokens was released. This represents about 47.7% of the currently circulating supply, and the value of the tokens that were unlocked is estimated at roughly $114 million.
The distribution structure also matters here. Among the beneficiaries are Jump Crypto and Malbec Labs, the team, and institutional participants and contributors. This means a relatively large volume of tokens has reached the market—not just a few more million for the stats.
However, 2Z today doesn’t seem to be turning the lights out for the market simply: according to Gate data, the token traded during the day at levels higher than before, while weekly performance remained positive.
This is precisely what I find most interesting beyond the unlock figure itself.
If the price didn’t face strong selling pressure after a lock of this size was released, the market is actually showing that demand can absorb the supply. But if sellers start to push, the true scale of demand will become clear in the prior rally, and only expectations will remain otherwise.
A 47% unlock is not something that can be easily ignored. I’ll be watching 2Z’s reaction today with particular interest.
