NEAR Intents said it returned about $3.8 million stolen during Thursday’s hack.
On Friday, Cointelegraph reported that NEAR Intents identified the attacker behind the hack and gave them 48 hours to return the funds as part of “responsible disclosure.”
Later on Friday, NEAR Intents General Manager Alex Shevchenko announced a full refund.
«Funds totaling $3.8 million stolen as a result of the NEAR Intents hack have been returned in full,» Shevchenko wrote on X. «We are closing the investigation. Please use bug bounty programs and don’t disrupt service operations».
As Cointelegraph reported, NEAR Intents paused its services after detecting an «infrastructure interaction error between the Omni deposit/withdrawal and the NEAR Intents smart contract».
A preliminary investigation by NEAR found that user funds totaling $3.8 million had been stolen, and the company promised to fully compensate the losses to affected users.
As blockchain researcher ZachXBT reported, funds related to the incident were transferred to the KuCoin exchange and moved into bitcoin.
