Lyft has agreed to a $272.5 million settlement over claims from California drivers that the company treated them as contractors rather than employees. According to NS3.AI, the deal includes fees and costs and covers claims from April 5, 2016, through December 15, 2020.

At least $237,075,000 is reserved for drivers based on hours and miles driven. The settlement remains subject to court approval. Lyft said in an SEC filing that the agreement is not an admission of liability.
