I've learned a lot of techniques, summed up a lot, and experimented over and over. But the approach that's truly practical is trend-following: use the daily chart to determine the direction, then look for reversal structures on pullbacks on the 1-hour chart; use the 1-hour chart to determine the direction, then look for reversal structures on pullbacks on the 5-minute chart. This system just works. Trade with the trend. For years I've been going around in circles, and I don't know why. I have a profitable system right in front of me, yet I just won't use it. Every time I get beaten up trying other things, I remember trend-following and use it for a while—then I start overthinking and researching random stuff again, hit another wall, and come back to the trend-following system. Sigh... There's a road to heaven, but you refuse to take it; hell has no door, yet you insist on digging your way in.
