✍️ Diary of the Financial Warrior — #Day3
Today my portfolio taught me a lesson that no tutorial explained with this much clarity: diversification doesn’t eliminate losses, but it prevents a single coin from controlling all your psychology.
These are my real numbers, no filters:
🔻 SOL — 61% of my portfolio: −28.16% 💔
My main position is taking a hit. It’s still the asset that weighs the most in my portfolio, and that’s why every move it makes has an impact.
🔺 ALT / AltLayer — 20%: +33.51% 🚀
A small position that today offset some of SOL’s decline.
⚪ USDC — 18%: stable 🛡️
My dry powder: available capital so I don’t feel like I have to act out of anxiety.
🎁 SXT — 0.05%: received for free
My little zero-cost “lottery ticket”; for now, its financial impact is minimal.
📈 Total result for the day: +1.92%.
A miracle? No.
Diversification.
At first, practically 100% of my capital was in SOL. If SOL fell, my entire portfolio turned red. There were no shades of gray: a down day for SOL automatically meant a bad day for me.
Today, the situation is different. While SOL is trying to recover, ALT is rising and USDC is holding steady. My total balance is still in the red compared with last month, but the way I experience it has changed.
And that matters.
Diversification doesn’t make a portfolio invincible. It doesn’t guarantee profits either. But for someone who’s learning, it can offer something very valuable: time to think and less pressure to react.
Because in crypto, it’s often not the market that empties an account. It’s anxiety: selling out of fear, buying in late because of FOMO, or changing your plan every time a red candle appears.
What ALT taught me with just $1.08
Purchase price: $0.00582
Current price: ~ $0.0078
Change: +33.51%
Initial investment: ~ $1.08
Approximate current value: ~ $1.44
Yes, the amounts are small. 😅
But that’s precisely the point: with small amounts, I’m practicing decision-making, discipline, and emotional control before managing larger sums. This isn’t just an investment; it’s my financial gym.
I also wrote down a plan so I wouldn’t improvise if ALT keeps moving. Not because I can predict the market, but because I want to reduce the chance of making decisions based on emotion. Any plan should be reviewed if the market, my financial situation, or my risk tolerance changes.
What I learned on Day 3
I’m not celebrating a rise in ALT. I’m learning not to rely on a single coin to feel that my strategy is working.
My goal isn’t to get every move right. My goal is to build a portfolio and a mindset that can withstand the moves I didn’t expect.
