YouTuber PewDiePie said OpenAI banned his account twice while he was building Ajax, an AI model designed to run on users' computers. According to NS3.AI, Ajax is reportedly a 9-billion-parameter model built on Alibaba's open-source Qwen 3.5 for PewDiePie's self-hosted app Odysseus.

PewDiePie said he used an open-source tool to remove selected refusals, but added that Ajax is not intended to provide dangerous, actionable instructions. He said the model can handle tasks such as sorting inboxes and browsing successfully about nine times out of 10.

Ajax is not yet downloadable, and a countdown that previously pointed to 08:25 Japan time on October 3 has been removed.
