Three days ago, Amazon signed a $49.8 million private placement investment, injecting funds into PCB manufacturer Gold Circuit Electronics (2368). So now Amazon’s stake/ warrants include:
- $AAOI
- Alchip
- $MRVL (Celestial)
- $ALAB
- $CRDO
- $JBL
- $FLEX
- $STM
- $CBRS
- $GNRC
- $FN
- TD SYNNEX
- $QCOM
- Gold Circuit Electronics
and others……
If you look specifically at GCE’s private investment amount in the context of the deal, it is equivalent to 0.36% of the company…… financially it’s a bit small, but strategically it’s meaningful,
In particular, there are claims that GCE provides ASIC server PCBs to the four largest hyperscale CSPs……
Anyway, seeing Amazon start to have global leading companies behind Nvidia
Amazon is now involved in the entire supply chain—for example, PCB and optical manufacturing via Celestial, $AAOI’s lasers, $FN through to assembly from $JBL, and ASIC partners like $QCOM / Alchip
Overall, Amazon secures its AI and data center hardware supply chain through commercial guarantees tied to bulk-purchase agreements.
Buying these stocks isn’t like buying an ETF for capital appreciation?
Classic vertical integration and supply-chain risk mitigation, ensuring it can secure the physical inputs to build AWS infrastructure at lower cost and faster speed than competitors
