NVIDIA’s stock price hits a new high again!

On October 2, $NVDA , the intraday high reached $237.88, setting a new record and pushing the intraday gain to more than 2% at one point. The company’s market value briefly touched about $5.7 trillion.

However, it closed back at $233.95, finishing up 1.34% on the day. So “up 2.4%” is more accurately describing the gain at a certain point during the day, not the closing gain.

This rally isn’t just sentiment-driven. NVIDIA’s latest quarterly revenue reported in August reached $96.2 billion, up 106% year over year. Data center revenue was $89.0 billion, up 117%.

By the end of September, NVIDIA increased its share repurchase authorization again by another $150 billion, raising the remaining authorized total to $235 billion.

The macro environment also helped that day. U.S. nonfarm payrolls added only 29,000 in September, far below expectations. The market quickly reduced its October rate-hike bets, and tech stocks benefited overall.
