The overnight linkage between U.S. stocks and the crypto market—let’s make it clear
Don’t use last week’s rate-cut story to explain today’s moves.
These macro figures are the current prices, not a flashback:
Nasdaq 27,191 (+0.45% over 5 days, Yahoo)
Gold 4,162 (-0.15% over 5 days, Yahoo)
Crude oil 91.11 (-1.61% over 5 days, Yahoo)
So: the Nasdaq’s 5-day +0.45% is beating the S&P’s -0.27%. Risk appetite is still favoring growth stocks—not an all-out bull market. In crypto, what you’re tracking is the Nasdaq’s beta/volatility, not the Dow.
Crypto: BTC 84,608 (-1.97%), funding rate 0.0003% (8h, Binance U-margined).
ETH -2.16% moving in lockstep with BTC -1.97%; the FX rate is 0.03169. If there’s no independent market, don’t single-handedly bet on altcoins.
Watch the next leg for whether the 10-year yield can stop rising. If yields keep climbing, I’ll treat both the rebound in growth stocks and BTC as a pullback.
My position: I don’t catch the first knife. Until the drawdown has translated into a reduction in holdings, all “left-side” moves are just catching falling knives.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance U-margined / Yahoo daily lines (5-day gains/losses). Don’t fill in missing numbers.
When you see a pullback level, will you hang an order—or will you wait for the candle to close?
