$NEAR NEAR Co-founder shares ecosystem development direction: AI and privacy applications become the focus
BlockBeats news: On October 3, NEAR co-founder Illia (root.near) posted that over the past few weeks, a large number of new and veteran developers have been building in the NEAR ecosystem, while development tools and processes have also become simpler. At present, what developers need to focus on is “what products to build, and how to achieve user distribution.” Illia listed several potential application directions. These include an AI Tamagotchi based on NEAR AI, enabling verifiable inference through on-chain prompts. Each character exists in the form of an NFT, is bound to NEAR for paying inference fees, and incorporates game mechanics such as feeding, dressing up, and competitive gameplay. There is also a generic payment component that allows any merchant or application to integrate a “checkout” button, enabling users to complete payments via any wallet and on-chain assets, with plans to expand it into commercial scenarios such as Shopify.
Illia also proposed an “Never get liquidated” tool that combines AI with prediction markets; a private OTC market based on NEAR Intents; and a tool for automatically managing lending and perpetual contract positions to reduce liquidation risk. He further mentioned applications for on-chain event registration and fund escrow.
Regarding privacy and enterprise use cases, Illia said NEAR AI can be used to build private code review tools, enterprise equity and fundraising management systems, private medical AI for follow-up diagnosis, private meeting minutes tools, and an AI model evaluation platform based on private test sets. For trading and financial scenarios, Illia also suggested using NEAR Intents to build Delta Neutral strategy tools, as well as products that support private transactions and social copy-trading. These would let users sell view access so that other users can track trading performance.
In terms of ecosystem promotion, Illia said developers can get support through NEAR Legion, ensure applications are compatible with Aurora Intent Connect so users across different chains and wallets can participate without cross-chain steps; and expand reach through community partnerships, product distribution channels such as Product Hunt, and the X platform.
