$SAND In one night it surged 77%. Meanwhile, a few other small-cap coins were basically cut in half. This market is pretty interesting.

I took a look at SAND: its trading volume is about $86 million. That’s not small, but it’s also not particularly huge. As for the Axie Infinity-type chain games, I haven’t heard any major news lately, and there’s no ecosystem collaboration to speak of. With no sudden positive catalyst, such a spike is most likely just the market maker playing with itself. I’ve suffered this kind of loss before—when I chased in, the very next day it got dumped on.

At the 0.08 level, the valuation is still on the high side. Right now, the chain-game sector simply can’t carry the market.

On the other hand, NFP got “knee-capped” with a -65% drop. Memecoins are like this: when they rise, it feels great; when they fall, there’s no floor. At a price of 0.0018, it’s basically just thin air. This kind of high-volume crash isn’t just panic selling—it’s because there’s fundamentally no one to take the other side. For coins like this, either they go to zero, or they go to zero—there’s no middle ground.

Overall, the market is shrinking in volume. BTC is still chopping around at high levels, and capital is pulling out of high-risk assets. In this situation, chasing a sudden surge in some altcoin is pretty much like catching a falling knife.

What do you think—can this SAND move hold steady?
