NIGHT’s big players just flipped short!
After rising for 14 straight days, the big-player long/short ratio slid steadily from 1.26 → 1.07. Just now it broke below 1.0 and turned into 0.97. This is the first time the big players’ accounts have had more shorts than longs. But OI actually climbed from 118 million to 138 million, and retail traders are still adding positions.
This setup is very typical—big players opened shorts at high levels while retail traders keep chasing longs, and the funding rate won’t hold up for long.
MAGMA follows the same script. Up 43%, the big players’ long/short ratio is 0.60, with 60% on the short side, and OI hasn’t expanded. Both are “pump-and-dump” distribution structures, so it’s not suitable to chase longs.
On the other hand, GALA’s big-player long/short ratio is 2.69, and 70% of the long positions haven’t loosened yet. OI is rising steadily from 75.4 million to 80.81 million, and the trading volume is 3x the usual—this structure is healthier.
