Blockchain apps achieved their highest monthly revenues since the start of 2026 in September, with revenues across 356 networks reaching about $467.66 million, up by nearly 27% from August—its highest level since last October, according to the “DefiLlama” platform.

Solana topped the list of blockchain application revenues, bringing in $144.25 million—about 31% of the total—followed by the “Robinhood Chain” network with $84.39 million, “Hyperliquid” with $60.56 million, and Ethereum with $55.43 million.

And the “BNB Chain” network ranked fifth with $38.71 million.

What do blockchain app revenues mean?

Application revenue includes fees paid by users when trading currencies or opening positions on decentralized exchange platforms and perpetual contracts.

After distributing part of the fees to liquidity providers or other parties, what the apps keep represents their actual revenue.

DefiLlama data does not include the revenues of stablecoin issuers or staking protocols, and it also excludes gas fees that go to the network and validators.

This data provides a direct snapshot of users’ actual spending on the apps, a dimension not reflected by TVL or just the number of wallets.

Solana app revenues reached their highest level in eight months, driven mainly by token launchpads and trading of meme coins.

“StonkFun” was among the standout platforms that contributed to the increase in revenue volume.

Despite the strength in September, revenues are still far from the levels of January 2025, when Solana apps generated about $650 million during the peak of the meme-coin wave.

Meanwhile, the “Robinhood Chain” network saw the biggest surprise, as app revenues jumped from around $30 million in July and August to $84.39 million in September, surpassing both “Hyperliquid” and Ethereum.

By contrast, “Hyperliquid” maintained a top position thanks to strong perpetual contract trading activity, while Ethereum came in fourth despite holding the largest value locked across networks by a wide margin.
