Beth M. Hammack, President of the Cleveland Fed, said policymakers have a lot of economic data to consider before they meet again in late October. According to Sina Finance, Hammack said in an interview with PBS NewsHour that there will still be plenty of information before the month-end meeting, giving officials time to decide on the right policy stance and fulfill both parts of their mandate.

She said the Fed is doing fairly well on full employment, but added that her real concern is inflation. Hammack said inflation has been above the target for more than five and a half years, making it crucial to bring it back to 2%.

The article also said Fed Chair Jerome Powell downplayed forward guidance, while remarks from a key deputy continued to shape market expectations.
