The Non-Farm release brought violent market fluctuations, and I took two big losses: shorting BTC—unexpectedly, the news turned from negative to positive, BTC surged violently, and the shorts were immediately liquidated; shorting SAND—didn’t drop but instead rose—so I cut the loss and exited. Yesterday’s 19 U profit was fully given back in one day.
Biggest lesson: don’t gamble on news-driven price action. For heavyweight data like the Non-Farm, direction is highly unpredictable. Shorting against the trend is basically suicide. On top of that, I had poor emotional control and chased the short too aggressively.
