NEW: Meta’s AI agent Muse is off to a remarkably fast start.

Muse reportedly crossed 5 MILLION U.S. downloads in just 22 days, according to Sensor Tower estimates.

For comparison:

ChatGPT: 56 days
Grok: 103 days
Claude: 492 days

Muse has also held the No. 1 position on the U.S. App Store for 12 consecutive days.

But there’s important context.

Muse launched on both iOS and Android in the U.S. and Canada, while some competing AI apps had more limited platform availability at launch. Meta has also pushed the app aggressively through its own advertising network.

Even so, the early numbers are significant.

Unlike a traditional chatbot, Muse is built around AI agents that can take actions for users, including researching the web, booking travel, shopping and filling out forms.

The bigger question now is whether Meta can turn this huge initial download surge into sustained daily usage and long-term adoption.

The consumer AI agent race is getting serious.
