Coinbase: First range-bound, then try to probe the upper range—I’m watching 208.33

In the next 1–3 trading days, I lean toward Coinbase first consolidating, then testing the upper end. My first observation level is set at 208.33. Whether price can move closer to that level is the key focus of my next verification. It looks promising, but hold the champagne for now.😏

Coinbase’s latest regular-session quote is about $188.66, down -0.33% from the prior close. Price action is only one layer of analysis versus the company’s operations. You still can’t determine the direction of the company’s profits based solely on the coin’s rise or fall.

📊 Figure 1 | Daily K as of the 2026-10-01 U.S. Eastern time trading day: The close remains within the range of the previous 20 candles. MA20 has been rising for the last 3 candles, and the close is above it. Volume is 0.60 times the average volume of the previous 20 candles—volume looks weak, so follow-through shouldn’t be expected to come too quickly.

🔎 Figure 2 | BTC 1-hour as of Beijing 22:00: The close is above MA20, and volume is 1.63 times the average volume. MA20 has been rising for the last 3 candles. This chart is only for observing the crypto side: the directions on both sides are temporarily aligned, but the U.S. stock market closure window doesn’t match the crypto price window, so you can’t conclude that one is driving the other.

→ Main script: A pullback that does not break 186.3455, and I still lean toward testing up toward 208.33. The observation levels come from already established range boundaries. When price gets near there, I’ll watch for pauses and pullbacks rather than assuming it will pass straight through.

⚠️ If, later, the daily K close falls back below 186.3455, this bullish-leaning thesis fails and I’ll instead look at the possibility of returning to the other side at 161.18. If it only briefly tags that level with a wick, I’ll wait for the close. If it hasn’t advanced beyond the time window above, I’ll need to recheck with new data.

💬 Do you agree more with probing upward first, or that any rebound is likely to give back quickly? Also share what evidence on the chart makes you think that.
