$SAND This round suddenly woke up, but my intuition is that it’s more like a fire that was ignited by an external force rather than something that burned itself. The 24-hour volume expanded to $400 million, and the price jumped 51%. With a size like this sitting on a pool with a $190M market cap, you can’t help but take notice. But this volume candle needs a very specific validation: whether the current price can hold within the high-volume range, or whether tomorrow brings another 80% retracement.

Structurally, the move from $0.033 in 30 days to $0.064 is nearly doubled, but the entire rally was concentrated in the last 48 hours. In the first 24 days, the volume hovered almost entirely around $20 million. From ATH to now, $SAND fell from $8.4 to $0.064—a 99.23% drawdown—meaning everything above is trapped supply. It also implies there aren’t many “light” profit-taking shares left within the float.

My intuition is—this move looks more like short-term liquidity relocating from elsewhere, landing on an oversold asset that still has narrative residue. The most awkward part about $SAND is that it still has the lingering warmth of a GameFi narrative, yet it carries the risk of having its liquidity eaten at any moment.

If next, $SAND can’t consolidate with reduced volume above $0.045–$0.05, and if the spot volume can’t keep up, then the funds will likely ebb away over the weekend. I’ll use its prior high at $0.073 as the litmus test.

But don’t rush to conclude that it’s “already over.” If one day it quietly returns to around $0.05, and the daily volume continues to be higher than the highs from earlier this week, then you’ll have to admit I was wrong—because that might be the real starting point.
